Sunrise Retirement Community has announced its officers and board of directors for 2016-2017. Sunrise elected Corey Wrenn, Vice President, Treasurer, and CCO for Pecaut & Company as the new president of the board.
Other elected officers are: Mary Kovarna: vice president, Dr. Richard Hildebrand: secretary, Larry Book: treasurer and Tom Padgett: past president.
2016-2017 board members are Bill Bradbury, Adjunct Associate Professor at Morningside College, Dr. Barbara Condon, Ph.D., Briar Cliff University, Ph.D., Briar Cliff University, Donald Kelsey, community volunteer, Dr. Carolyn Leman, community volunteer, Doug Livermore, retired director of business administration at Morningside College, Terry Murrell, president of Western Iowa Tech Community College, Lynn Wold, president and CEO of UnityPoint Health – St Luke’s, Ron Yockey, project engineer at BPI and Dr. William Ziebell, MD retired.  Kyle Irvin of Corbett-Anderson-Corbett-Vellinga LLP is legal advisor.
Sunrise served nearly 300 seniors that reside on their 33 acre campus, and provided 78, 812 resident service days during its 2016 fiscal year. As part of their community based nonprofit mission Sunrise provided $724,000 in benevolent care and unreimbursed Medicaid/Medicare resident services.
Sunrise is the largest and most comprehensive retirement community in Siouxland. As a community-based, not-for-profit community serving seniors, it provides the entire continuum of care, from independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing care, home health care and homemaker services and specialized memory care.
