The main form of carbohydrates are sugars, fructose, glucose and lactose which are found in starchy veggies, grains, rice, breads and cereals. When consumed, the body converts those carbs into sugar glucose which is absorbed into the blood stream causing the blood sugar to elevate.

Read your labels when purchasing food to see how many carbs are in the foods you are consuming.
