Sunrise Retirement Community Celebrates National Assisted Living Week

September 8, 2017

Sioux City – A weeklong celebration begins Sunday, September 10, at Sunrise Retirement Community to celebrate National Assisted Living Week which continues through Saturday, September 16. Sunrise is joining assisted living communities across the country honoring this year’s theme, “Family is Forever.”

The “Family is Forever” theme for National Assisted Living Week was inspired by a quote from the famed poet Maya Angelou: “Family isn’t always blood, it’s the people in your life who want you in theirs: the ones who accept you for who you are, the ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what.”

At Sunrise our residents, their families, and our staff become part of the Sunrise family. “The assisted living staff here at Fountain View are wonderful, they are my friends, they are interested in me—they are concerned about my well-being which makes me feel good,” said Josephine Myers, a resident of Sunrise Retirement Community’s Fountain View Assisted Living.

Sunrise is celebrating National Assisted Living Week, with events that encapsulate the “Family is Forever” theme and include:
